RELIGIOUS FREEDOM ACT VIOLATES 1ST AMENDMENT
The passing of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) is a clear violation of the First Amendment. States nor the Federal Government can not pass laws the favor one religion. The Law definitely gives preference to Christianity. Which make the current laws being passed by States regarding the right to deny services based on religious beliefs illegal.
The “establishment of religion” clause of the First Amendment means at least this:
Neither a state nor the Federal Government can set up a church.
Unless the word god in the Pledge of Allegiance is a fill in the blank type thing, it may imply that the government has at least adopted Christianity as their religion.
Neither can a state nor the Federal Government pass laws which aid one religion, aid all religions, or prefer one religion over another.
Now for the RFRA. It aids one religion with a preference to Christianity.
No tax in any amount, large or small, can be levied to support any religious activities or institutions, whatever they may be called, or whatever form they may adopt to teach or practice religion.
While there is no direct tax. Tax money is used to enforce the RFRA.
In the words of Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect “a wall of separation between Church and State.” The RFRA clearly gives preference to the christian faith. The government clearly establishes Christianity as the faith of the federal government invoking the name of their god. There is hardly a wall separating them, a picket fence at best.
These new measure being signed in to law allows churches, religious charities and privately held businesses to decline services to people if doing so would violate their religious beliefs on marriage and gender.
That leads me to believe that abortion doctors, those living out of wedlock, pagans, satanist, adulterers, rapist, larcenist, would all be acceptable customers, as long as they where not gay or transgendered.
Plan and simple the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was enacted to entwine Christianity into our government and dictate our way of life, by christian political leaders. You can tell who they are, they say things like same sex marriage is a sin against god. This is similar to what radical Islamic leaders are doing in the middle east. That is why it is important to vote. Hopefully we will get a leader that will trash all the religious freedom nonsense. They have the freedom to practice their religion not make it a way of life for everyone. This is not the Crusades.
Anyone that thought these people were going to go away after same sex marriage was made legal. Is a bit more then naive.
